Named for the adjacent Glen Canyon Park, just prior to the 1900s, Glen Park was developed as a streetcar suburb by City planners who assumed (and rightly so) that the area would need to cater to working families with busy lifestyles.
Today, Glen Park is a sparkling jewel of a neighborhood, a self-contained hillside village within the City whose curvy streets have a quaint, old-world flavor and homes that date from the Victorian era on.
Because of Glen Park's small size and mom and pop businesses, the neighborhood is sometimes described as having a village atmosphere
